From Launch to Legacy: Building the Bridge to Global Excellence
A Landmark Beginning
In November 2025, the Bangladesh Cancer Consortium (BCC) officially stepped onto the global stage. Our inaugural 2-Day International Cancer Workshop was a resounding success, bringing together hundreds of delegates, UK faculty, and local specialists. We didn't just discuss cancer care; we began the work of transforming it.
"Our mission is to bridge the gap between local clinical realities and NHS-standard care. This inaugural workshop was the first stone in that bridge."
— Dr. Tasmia Tahmid, President, BCC
Headline News: First BCC International Observership Awarded
We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in our mission for clinical excellence. Through the collaborative support of TACHRC CIC and the Bangladesh Cancer Consortium, our first international clinical observership has been finalized.
Professor Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Clinical Head of the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, has been successfully placed for a one-month intensive program at the prestigious Basingstoke Peritoneal Malignancy Centre, UK, starting in April 2026.
Focus of Study: CRS & HIPEC
Under the mentorship of Mr. Faheez Mohamed, Professor Habib will focus on Cytoreductive Surgery (CRS) and Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC). This placement is specifically designed to facilitate the establishment of a dedicated HIPEC center in Dhaka, bringing life-saving surgical oncology technology to the heart of Bangladesh’s public healthcare system.
